1. No Pain No Gain
Leave your TV serials behind, sleep at fixed times and get up early. Follow your clock and head to the gym punctually. This is discipline, dedication, and determination to stay fit. No excuses here and if there are any, you don’t belong here, simple.
Bodybuilder’s bodies need full 8-9 hours of sleep so that your body gets enough time to rebuild your broken muscles and gear up for the next day’s strenuous exercises. None of your supplements will come handy if you miss out on sleep.
2. Healthy Snacks To Munch On!
Virat eats home cooked food to his heart’s content, no dieting here. His ‘in between meal’ snacks are Wheat Crackers, which are full of fiber and not those made of refined flour, or “Maida”. Salads and fruits are part of his daily meals and he makes it a point to have them in plenty. But no soft drinks like Colas which had loads of Sugar. Wise decisions are part and parcel of legend’s lives.
3. Never Miss Your Protein which gives strength
As a perfect fitness die-hard, he prefers good protein and knows it helps in muscle building. The strength and stamina can be observed from the way he conducts himself on the field, the agile fielding, the crackling shots and the alert mind.
Virat’s choice of protein: Sushi, Salmon and Lamb Chops top his list of favourites. However, the vegetarians can also lay their hands on Whey Protein and Casein Protein as the former works best in the gym and the latter works best when you have it just before sleeping. Casein is a slow digesting protein and it feeds your tired muscles the whole night allowing them to rebuild their broken tissues easily and without any hurry.
4. Fittest Cricketer’s Strict Workout Plan
Five days of workout and this involves a powerful combination of Weights and Cardio Exercises. Well, the weight lifting for the upper body’s lean and strong muscles, gives overall body strength and stamina and the Cardio helps toning lower body muscles. Observe how fast he runs between wickets or when chasing a ball towards the boundary!
Most Indian bodybuilders do the weights reluctantly and pass most of the time either chatting or simply watching others train. Unless you are focused, no weight training will work. You need dedication and always assert your brain that you will lift weights progressively before your efforts show results.

5. Two Days of Complete Rest
Though Virat mentioned of a 5-day workout schedule, he kept quiet on Rest Days.
Even your body, your muscles and your mind needs rest. Your body needs to realign in its own peculiar way. You cannot do anything there and allow your body to manage it alone.
If resting is not your pastime, you can play any sport or go for long walks … anything that does not involve any strenuous exercise.
6. HYDRATE YOUR BODY WELL
Water makes Muscles. Period.
Though Virat drinks mineral water, you can drink any water you like, but it should be without any additives like sugar. Drink at least 10-12 glasses of water daily, including your rest days.

Sometimes drinking normal water can be difficult. Drinking cold water is much easier and you will wonder how easily you gulped more water than you ever imagined!
